Hurry Home, Honey!

In Song of Solomon 8:13, Solomon states, “You who dwell in the gardens, the companions listen for your voice – let me hear it!” He longs to be with his wife. He longs for her to call him to her. He longs to love her.

In Song of Solomon 8:14, Solomon’s wife responds,
“Make haste, my beloved,
And be like a gazelle
Or a young stag
On the mountains of spices.”
In other words, “Run to me! Hurry home!”

A husband or wife who is faithfully committed to their mate is worth running home to. Marriage should not be drudgery or make you feel trapped. If your marriage includes the faithful commitment God intended it to have, it should be a release to enjoy the fullness of love and joy in a relationship.

After a long day’s work, whether in the office or at home, are you anxious to see your spouse? Do you long to spend time with him/her?

My Challenge For You:
Today when you or your spouse comes home from work, greet them with the same excitement that Solomon and his wife had in Song of Solomon 8. See if it doesn’t make a difference!
